Toro S-200 Engine

Hi,

I have a Toro S-200 snow sweeper with a 2-Cycle Tecumseh Engine. The tag on the engine housing is stamped:

1585
TECUMSEH
8143

I am looking to find the correct spark plug for this engine.

The plug that came out of it is an NGK XR5. The threads are pretty short on it. I tried cross referencing it and the Champion book said J14YC but the threads on this type of plug are longer.

Also, the NGK XR5 seems to a pretty off beat plug and hard to find. I thought a Tecumseh would run a pretty standard plug. I didn't install the NGK so I really have no idea if it is even the correct plug to begin with.

Does anyone know of a website or have information about what plug this engine should be running?

Any info is always appreciated.

Trip

What is the model of your toro, should be 5 digits.

Go to

https://www.shoptoro.com/Comergent/e...isManuals=true

and enter your model number, the SP number should be listed.

just take the old plug to a small engine shop and they will match it.

It takes a Champion RJ18YC with a .035 gap
