john deere trs 21 snowblower

i have a trs 21 snowblower with a tecumseh carb, the blower starts runs for a few secs than it dies, or the blower will run only when the carb is choked, i changed gas, plug and cleaned carb. still same problem, i think it may be a bad carb any ideas??? rebuild carb or what ..

does sound like a dirty carb. You might want to try running it with the gas cap loose. If that helps, then you have a blocked vent in the gas cap and it needs to be cleaned or replaced.

I agree with IndyPower something is still dirty, if it has a bowl type carb reclean the bowl nut(main jet) some have 2 holes some 3, you can use the wire from a twist tie on the tiny one. Refer to the picture in the link below. Have a good one. Geo
