B&S engine id

hi guys,
i just found this forum, and it looks pretty active,,, so maybe you can help .... i am working on a 5hp BS vertical engine from a mtd log splitter... the #'s on teh engine don't seem to jive with any of teh parts lists i found online,,, here they are,, TBS190U1G1RA:EM disp 190cc model 12V...
i need a connecting rod for it, and i think the BS # is 499424,but i want to make sure...
hope some one can help,, or if anyone has a good used one, let me know, i already replaced the engine for my friend, i just wanted to try and fix this one,,,,,

First, welcome to the forum.
The engine model, type and code numbers on B&S are usually on the metal engine shroud just above the sparkplug or a metal tag above the muffler. Have a good one. Geo
