Hi

I inherited a stihl weedeater and need to find out what portion of gas and oil it needs and the right kind of oil
it requires. Thanks very much for your help!

If the unit is not overly old then it's 50 to 1.Stihl branded oil is based on that ratio and that ratio has been used for all Stihl products for many years.

I recomend using a quality 50:1 oil. Today's 2-cycle oil is formulated so much better than it was 15 years ago.
50:1 will smoke less, foul plugs less, and start easier. Even if you chainsaw is old enough to recomend using 16:1, I would still use the 50:1 mix.

I agree...50:1 with a quality oil. It's better for the engine and the environment.

Cool

I would use 40:1 its slightly more than 50:1 but not much different.
