Unhappy 18 HP B/S I/C Twin cylinder engine

I have a 18 HP twin cylinder B/S engine that has lost all spark. Flywheel key is intact, and a new Magnetron ignition coil has been installed. Still no spark. What else could it be? HELP!

If you haven't done this already, Leave the small black kill lead wire disconnected from the coil and check for spark again. If you still have no spark, Did you set the air gap between the coil and flywheel magnet at .010" to 0.14" gap with a feeler gauge ?

Did you mount the new coil with the plug wires facing up away from the cylinder block ?

If you have spark with the small kill lead wire disconnected, Trace this kill wire back through the wire harness checking for any bare spots that could be grounding/shorting out.

Good Luck

No points on an 18hp I/C briggs. The magnet on the flywheel tells it when to spark.
