18.5 OHV Briggs

My 18.5 ohv Briggs is spelling oil out of the fuel pump breather. Does anyone know what might cause this to happen?

Please post model number.

I have never heard of a fuel pump breather. Can you verify where the oil is coming from?

The vent on the fuel pump is in the same portion of the pump that the crankcase pressure is ported to. If there is extremely excessive crankcase pressure or overly full or thin oil, it could weep out this vent. Is the oil overfilled? Does the oil smell like gas? Does the engine smoke?

Did you check/follow Mr Cheese's post above ?

If so and you found no problem maybe we can get you to post both model and type numbers so we can take a look at yours ?
