Help with Bolens Lawn tractor

I have gotton a Bolens 13am662f765 lawn tractor from a friend for free he said it needs belts and a battery... Ok i started it today and yes it needs what he says but it wont drive the belt is connected from rear to motor but ill put it in gear and it wont move back or foward i smell belt burning a little but it wont move a single bit feels like its locked. is there somthing wrong with the rear or is there a lock that is stuck on or somthing? O i cant find the neutral switch on back some one told me there is a lever on the back that will make it go in neutral is there such a lever?

There should be 2 belts to the transaxle. One from the engine to the varidrive pulley, and one from the vari to the tranny. If these are intact, make sure they get tight. If they do, try turning the tranny pulley manually.

Wouldn't hurt to check the brake and make sure it isn't stuck.
