blade sharpening 8 hp tecumseh chipper

Hi all,

I have an 8hp DUERR #658 wood chipper, tecumseh that needs the blades sharpened or turned. Blades look like this.

I searched for a way to remove the blades, drum and all, on this forum. One suggestion was to heat it, drive wedges behind drum and then screw a longer bolt in and whack it with a 3 lb hammer.

Will this damage the threads? Is this the proper way to do it?

I tried whacking a thinner bolt in the hole without the heat or wedges but no luck.

Thanks,
Rob
