Sears #917.276813 Lawn Tractor

I just purchased a Craftsman Rear Bagger assembly that has the hitch? style connect to the rear of the tractor. My Sears model # for the tractor is #917.276813

My question is what hardware do I need to attach the bagger to my machine. The problem is that the previous owner of the bagger wanted to keep the attachment bracket on his tractor but did not want the bagger, thus I got a great deal on the bagger assembly! The only problem is that it is not a great deal until I find out where to buy the correct bracket assembly.

I searched hi and low on the Searspartsdirect.com but could not find any mention of the part I need.

Any help would be appreciated.

See if you can find a model # on the bagger then use that on the sears site.

Need further help...

Ok, found a part number for the hard bags only. It is 129584... I then went to the Searspartsdirect.com site and that only showed me a new substitute number for the hard bag, but no link to the rest of the assembly's. I did find a manufacture date on the major assembly with a year of 1995! That cautioned me that this may not fit my 2005 tractor... Indeed, the lower chute is too SMALL for the opening coming off of my mower deck!

I guess that my bargain is not a bargain any longer!

Unless someone can help me by saying that all I need to/or can do is replace the lower chute assembly and make this work... I am going to be forced to sell the whole unit and go with plan "b"!

Also, upon further research, I found that perhaps I need a
Hitch yoke (Sears Part# 677A860)?? in order to attach a bagger.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Too Funny

That is the EXACT bagger that I bought! I found it on craigslist and bought that same one! LMAO

Doesn't Fit! I think that it must be for a smaller mower deck, it is smaller than the opening on my 42" deck.

Not to mention that I need the sleeve attachment bracket for the back of my mower...

Thanks for the input though!

UPDATE... bagger model# found...

OK,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. The bagger model # is 917.248970

My tractor model # is 917.276813 (42" 20 HP Craftsman)

How do I attach this bagger to the rear of my tractor?

You need part #180923X479 support assembly($31.55), and (4) part # 170165 self tapping shoulder bolts ($2.92 each). The support assembly just bolts on the rear plate above the hitch hole. I just installed a bagger on my new Poulan Saturday. Same tractor as your Craftsman.
