Trying to cheat

If trimmers are like everything else, one company makes several diffrent brands of the same tool and charges diffrent amounts for basicly the same product. What i want to know is where i can find a cheap clutch for a john deere s1400.If i aint misstaken Homelite and john deere are the same but most homelites dont have clutches in them. What could a tear apart that would work?

ps.. I called a john deere dealer and he wants to charge me $40 for a simple trimmer clutch.I could buy acouple dead trimmers for that and find the parts i need and sell the rest.

Some of the lower end trimmers from Deere were made by homelite, yours included. I don't know what homelite models happen to have the same clutch as the S1400 though.
