Simplicity Broadmoor won't start

I have a 1997 Simplicity Broadmoor lawn tractor model#1692774. All I get is a "click" from the solenoid, and then the solenoid gets hot. Is the solenoid the problem or maybe the starter? The battery is good. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is power getting to the starter? If not, the solenoid is bad. If there is power going to the starter, it may be bad, or jammed. Test for voltage at starter when trying to crank it.
