briggs and stratton 16.5 hp motor

briggs and stratton 16.5 hp motor

I am a moron. i ran the engine w/ too little oil and i believe i killed it. is there a rebuild kit for it? model # 313777 can i switch it for a different model?

IT may be able to be rebuilt, you'll have to check and see. Usually if the rod breaks the block, it does it right behind the starter. Remove the starter and see if there is a bulged or broken out spot behind it.

There are other engines that will retro-fit in place of it.
