Stihl Trimmer FS55 Starter String
I broke the string on my trimmer last fall. (2 years old) Just got around to trying to fix it. I took it apart but not sure the steps to put it back together. Any help?
Actually second time it has broke. First time was 3 months after I bought it and dealer reluctantly fixed it even though he said it wasnt covered by warranty. Dont think he put in a new string, just used what was left of old one. I'm planning on buying a new string this time.
thanks

What do you need help putting back together? Just put the pull starter assembly back on the engine and put the screws in. I think I'm missing something here...

You have a Sthil FS55 as well??? Have you taken the recoil off to check the ""Starter Dog"" that's in there.. If you have another Make /Model, let us know & we'll take it from there... Roger

I finally got it. I was putting the clip/pin around the plastic piece that needs to catch to turn the engine over.
Once I took it off the plastic piece, to where it would catch. I was good to go. Hope that makes sense, it was a simple error on my part.
Thanks for the response though!
Have a nice day.
