Tecumseh carb over-flowing
I have a 10 year old generator (hardly used) with a Tecumseh engine, model # HM100 ......... and everytime I replace the carb bowl the gas will NOT stop flowing into the carb. Apparently the float is not stopping it - as it should.
Anybody know what's up with this?
Any inputs would be appreciated.

Sounds like the float is now a "sinker". This is a common problem with Tecumseh engines. Their floats seem to develope pin holes allowing them to fill with gas and sink. I keep 5 of these floats in stock in my shop just for that reason. Remove the float and shake it next to your ear. If you hear a sloshing, it has gas inside the float and needs to be replaced.
