Murray Transaxle Switch

Trying to upgrade here. Bought a 1999 Murray 14.5 HP lawn tractor last weekend that is in great shape except it does not move. Transaxle # is 2055024C

The beater that I have is: Model #: 46901X92A Date of Manufacture is 0334 Transaxle #: 93264 94 model

Both of course are hydrostatic. Can I switch the transaxles? Will they line up? Am I better off rebuilding the one on the 1999? Can I part out the one that does work to fix the 1999 one? They look to be pretty close to the same and do line up as far as the measurements go. Are there some simple things I should do to check the 1999 to see why it does not engage? I know the belt is good. Lack of fluid? I greatly appreciate all info that I have received off this site over the years. Thanks!

I have done several swaps where I changed one tranny with another even when the trannys had differences. Generally, if they look the same, and connect to brake and shifter the same, then it's probably going to work. You may have to change a bracket, linkage, brake assembly, etc... to make it work.

Cheese, thanks! That is exactly what I needed to know. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting into something that is no way, will not work type of deal.
Be Blessed!
