Trimmer String

I own a HomeLite String Trimmer and the string gets cut all the time when hitting something hard like a rock. Is that normal? Is there a good replacement string to use that is more durable and sturdy?

Yep, it's normal....try to use the very end of the line when close to those kind of objects.

As to types of line, I've used the star shaped (cuts much better than round stuff) but it's not much more durable. I would up getting a large spool of the square kind on a great discount and it seemed to be a little more resistant to breakage, though it was sometimes difficult to feed if not wound well and sprayed with little silicone lube.

Can't really give you any brand names..no trimmer and no grass out here.
