Kohler cv14s engine
I have a model number 917.255460 tractor with a Kohler
CV14S type number PS 1452 engine.
The tractor started to act up two weeks ago. It starts great. After about ten minutes of runnibg, the engine shuts down. No bogging or sputtering, just stops.
I have replaced the plug, drainned and added fresh fuel, replaced the gas filter to no avail.
After speaking with several folks I was told that the problem is the coil.
How do I replace the coil?
Thank you

Might be the coil, might not. What does it do when you try to start it? Have you checked for spark? I can tell you how to change the coil if you want, but I'm not into changing parts without knowing if they are bad or not...know what I mean?

CV14S Kohler
The engine starts fine. Idles fine. When the engine gets hot, it just stops. It does not bogg or sputter at all. I then have to wait appx. 1 hour for the engine to start again.
I have replaced the plug and fuel filter and put new fuel into the tank.
Thanks

You will need to remove the engine shroud and possibly other components to access the coil. The coil is where the high tension lead (spark plug wire) originates.

Section 8 has detailed instructions on how to test the coil.

Your description does sound like classic coil failure. Still, I would check for spark when it dies just to be sure.
