I'm not getting fuel to carb on push mower

This is a Weed Eater 5.50 I need to know how to trouble shoot problem. I really don't know if I should (or how to) take of the contraption that holds the rope that starts the engine to follow the fuel line. Any help would be apprecialted, Thank's

Post the engine model, type and code numbers usually found on the metal shroud just above the spark plug. If it is a Briggs engine with the carb setting on the fuel tank you probably need to install a new diaphram. Have a good one. Geo
