trouble removing left rear wheel bearing on Toro riding mower

I have a Toro 8hp / 32" cut riding mower. The left rear wheel/axle bearing needs replacing. To get to the wheel bearing the wheel needs to be removed. So far I have tried pressing the bearing, spacer and wheel off in a 20 ton shop press. I have tried pulling just the wheel with a 12 ton hydraulic gear puller with shop made puller arms that have stubs that engage the holes for the axle/wheel locking bolt. I have tried using the heat wrench, ie acetylene torch, in combination with the shop press or gear puller. So far the wheel has not budged. I have been assuming the axle and wheel are unthreaded. What am I missing? Any ideas would be helpful at this point.

Thanks

I've seen some wheel axle assy's siezed together so bad, you have to cut the wheel off.. Mostly on snowblowers, tho... Is this axle part of the transaxle?? If so,, price out a wheel & tire assy as it may be cheeper to cut it off than lots of labour, torches, etc... Good Luck...Roger
