Husky chainsaw starts great but won't run.
My dad suckered me into fixing his chainsaw. I don't know how I always get stuck doing this, considering I have 4 brothers. The chainsaw starts great and gives one good "Vreem", but then dies. It will start right up but won't run. I figured it needed a carb kit. I just threw one in, cleaned it all nice, but its doing the same thing. Any recommendations? The kit didn't seem very high quality. I've had great luck before many times with the place I purchased it, but this time all the gaskets were a tad bit off.

Verify its the right kit..Did you order it by carb I.D. or saw application?? Sometimes the saws of the same model can use several different carbs,,,, Was it made by the carb manufacturer (Walbro,, Zama,,etc) or was it a no-name aftermarket part??? If the kit is right,, did you adjust the meetering lever?? Check the fuel lines & pulse line & gaskets carefually... Have you tried to adjust the mixture screws a bit??? Just a couple thoughts...... Also check for pinholes/cracks in the fuel lines, intake boot, and primer if equipped (don't know what saw you have so it's hard to give details).

Its a husky 55 rancher with a walbro carb. I brought the carb in and the guy gave me the kit. He could have given me the wrong one, but I guess I could just cross reference the numbers myself online, to verify its right. All the gaskets were off a little bit. But it had the same exact issue before. I guess fuel line is a good thing to check. My 55 rancher is on its 2nd one, I could see my dads needing one. I'm not sure what the metering lever or pulse line is. I have played with the screws a little. If I remeber right, when rebuilding these carbs, its 1 and 1/4 turn out or so to start. Can anyone verify this? Thanks for the help guys!
