Can I add a fuel pump to my replacement engine?

I am moving my Briggs & Stratton 15.5 HP engine, model 28N707, 1026-E1, 991102ZE, from a gravity feed mower to one where the engine is not below the tank. How do I add a fuel pump? I can't find a vacuum port anywhere. Is there an electric fuel pump that will serve this function? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Bob,

Your breather assembly (behind the carb where the small air filter hose is hooked) should look like this;

Number 84 is a plug, You can remove this plug then add another "L" like 186 Briggs part# 691609 then hook the pulse type pump to this newly installed "L".

Here is a parts list to properly convert this engine to a fuel pump;

X1 808656 Fuel Pump
X1 690458 Fuel Pump Bracket
X2 690510 Fuel Pump To Bracket Spacers
X4 Miscellaneous 1/4" Screws From Your Local Hardware Store.
Extra 1/4" Fuel Hose And Spring Clamps.....

Good Luck

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know. I see that alternate breather assembly in my parts list, and now have all the B&S parts numbers. The breather plate that came on mine only has the one hole for the breather tube. Thanks again!!
