lawn tractor dies after running 15 min

got an used well taken care of 1986/87 john deere 130 / kawasaki fc290v ,have replaced/cleaned spark plug many times, when cold it starts fine , inline tester shows good spark , after it runs and gets hot it quits, the inline tester shows very little spark, could this be the: coil -ignition ($50) or the igniter ($50) , is there way to trouble-shot ?

sounds like a coil getting hot.

The coil rarely causes this problem on a kawasaki. It is almost always the igniter. In fact, I had one doing that today and replaced the igniter to fix it. 31Ytech posted some diagnostics for this system here not long ago. I'll see if I can find them.
