Broken pull start on B/S 4.5 hp mower???

Unhappy Broken pull start on B/S 4.5 hp mower???

How do I repair the pull start rewind mechanism on my 4.5 hp B/S Mower??

I don't understand all the emocons it isn't a big deal. Remove all the plastic shrouds until you get to the metal one, now remove the 2 bolts in the front, the 2 bolts rear and the one in the oil filler tube if it has one, remove the shroud, fish out the old rope and turn the starter pulley in the direction it would travel if you were pulling on the rope to start the mower until it will turn no further, now back it up until the holes align for the new rope to be inserted, block the pulley with whatever you have available, insert the new rope, tie a knot, release the pulley and the rope will rewind, reassemble, install the pull handle at the proper length and you are done. broken pull start rewind cord

I have broken the pull rope on a 4.5 hp B/S mower. How do I fix this???

You either didn't read my post or didn't understand it so below is a picture of the shroud, the second picture will be the underside of the shroud, the third is after winding to align the holes. Have a good one. Geo
