Homelite Trimlite UT20760 25cc

Unit won't start, I have checked compression, installed new plug, fresh gas.---Still not firing, I have I think a good blue spark when I ground the plug to the body. What next?

Add a little gas into the spark plug hole, put the plug in, and try to start it. See if it runs for a second or two.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. One other thing, I have not started this unit in three years. But with the plug out there seems to be gas coming into the cylinder as I crank the unit.

Ok, then it may be that it is flooding and the carb needs repair. If it has that much gas in it, that's probably the case.

I believe your trimmer has a ZAMA carburetor. If that is the case the links below will help with rebuilding the carburetor.

Thanks Airman, I used the Zama link to get the clean carb info. I used it and used a medicine dropper to put gas in the spark plug hole, replaced carb and fired it up. The cleaning apparently had done the trick. It's running good.
