B & S 6.5 HP EZ Start push mower running problem

I have a couple years old Troy Built push mower, It has a 6.5 hp b and s motor. Model number 123K02-0336-E1 05031851. It will run if you prime it but is really jerky. And it will stall out as soon as it runs out of primed up fuel. any help would be great!

It sound like the bowl nut(main jet) is clogged, remove the bowl nut and clean 2 holes at the botton and one through the center, might as well clean any gunk from the bowl also, if you remove the airfilter housing be very careful not to damage the gasket between the housing and the carb, if it is damaged it must be replaced or the primer will not work. Have a good one. Geo

Tried that. No luck. Should I get a carb rebuild kit?
