craftsman riding lawn mower, model cv490, type 27508

craftsman riding lawn mower, model cv490, type 27508, gas coming out muffler, I have ordered a carburator rebuild kit, need a procedure to follow?

Apparently the float valve is not seating do to trash, corrosion or varnish. Polish the float valve seat and sides of the float valve using a Q-Tip wet with metal polish.

Smile craftsman riding lawn mower, model cv490, type 27508

make sure you change the oil and filter (if it has one) i found that the sears mowers have a problem doing that what i did after i rebuilt the carb i got a manual gas shut off valve and put in between tank and carb
