Toro weed eater runs rough

My Toro weed eater model 51938 is running rough. This problem has just started. It runs rough with a few burst of full power. It will idle just fine.

Not sure what's going on, can anyone help please?

Thanks,

It sounds like your plug is loading up with oil and is not cleaning up until you rev it up to full power. Your plug might be too cold and might have to be replaced with the next hotter plug. And while you are at it remove the spark arrestor screen in the muffler. That could also be closing up on you for good breathing.

Thanks for your reply. I checked the arrestor screen and it was clogged. How is the best way to clean it or do you replace it. The muffler appears dirty and moist inside. Should that be replaced.

Thanks,

I remove muffler and burn carbon off using a MAP torch.

Unless you live on government land or park or if your subject to wild fires, you can leave the spark arrestor out.
