broken muffler

I have a briggs and stratton engine that the muffler bolts broke off flush with the block. I tried an easy out and heated them but i cannot remove them. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Keep drilling them out with bigger size drills. Maybe, get some left handed bits. Squirt cutting oil as you drill. And keep trying the ez out, but be careful, last thing you want is to break one in the hole. If they still won't pop out, drill them out completly and retap for bigger bolts (if possible) or a helicoil for original size bolts. Good luck.

I've never had much luck drilling them. I have ground the end of a bolt to a wedge point and welded that to the remains of the bolt in the engine and unscrewed it with the welded on bolt. The heat from the welding usually gets it where it will break loose.
