imperial 26 jacobsen 2 stage tecumseh engine
i have no idea what model engine is on this thing i have done a complete overhaul new gaskets and paint. my great grandfather gave this to me in peices so im basicly guessing how this engine goes together if i could i would love to find the model number and get a manual but the one problem is none of the markers that are stickers that have the model numbers on it are gone they werent there to start with so dont call me an idiot ha i need to get this engine running by the end of thsi school year for a class called engine tech so all the help i could get would be great i have documented all the numbers staped on the engine and i might have a problem my psiton has to like pits on the sides around the egdes and i will not let that stop me so if anyoe has any information please tell me

Is this a snow blower or a mower? I guess by 2 stage you mean 2-Cycle. 
There are two 2-Cycle Tecumseh manuals at the link below. Download them and see if you can identify the engine you have.

yes this is definatly a 4 cycle engine there are exhust and intake valves it is a snow blower i messed up the name (how it was in order) it is a jacobsen imperial 26 heavy duty 2 stage. it has i think 4 speeds on it i really need to know how the governer and the carb link up it is an older one so i really dont have any chance of finding any linkage parts i am gonna need to make my own

The description you just gave is for the snowblower (2 stage). Do you know anymore about the engine other than it's Tecumseh - maybe the HP or anything along those lines. Maybe if you could post a picture of it also, it would help.

it is between a 7 and 9 hp engine i will see what i can do about pictures the carb is made by a lauson power products if that helps any it is a float type carb centerfugal governer e-zee start magneto if you give me specifics i can give you numbers stamped into the engine itself if that would help

i need help idneitifying this engine but i dont have any of the stickers or tags on the engine its a long story i have posted in another thread i would post pictures put i really dont no how to so help please i will give u as much info as i can

Understanding your engine is a 4-Cycle go to the link below and download the manual. I am confident this will be the manual for your engine. Look through it to identify your engine.

now i am just going to not use that link you gave me because the manual is not specific enough so what i am going to try to do is get a pdf of the snow blower manual and get teh model number off of that so anybody any help with this
