8hp Briggs carb disassembly
I have a Briggs and Stratton 8hp model 190432. I took off the carb, disassembled it and am waiting for the carb kit to arrive. I just saw on another post that you are supposed to remove a tube before separating the two halves of this carb. I did not do that; it came apart with the tube still intact. Is this a problem? Have I ruined something by not removing the tube first?

Without an engine TYPE number I am not positive what carburetor is on your engine.
My guess is you have a 390323 medium two-piece Flo-Jet carburetor.
Here are some links that may help:

Your engine has the 390323 medium two-piece Flo-Jet carburetor so the previous link is good for you.
It is best to remove the emulsion tube and clean EVERYTHING thoroughly. I doubt anything is ruined.
