STIHL BG55 Blower Won't Start

I am having a problem starting my Stihl BG55 leaf blower. After many attempts it will not start. I have replaced the spark plug but to no avail. If I remove the air cleaner and spray starter fluid into the carb it will start and run perfectly. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Once started with the starter fluid it runs OK from that point on? If that's the case it could be the choke circuit.

Does it idle normal or a little high? If the it's the latter = vacuum leak at manifold or leaking crank seals.
