Snow blower belt slips

Hi guys,, I have an AYP branded unit here & the belt for the auger won't drive when it gets into any thing but light snow... The model # is 96194000100, ser# 110905m 00137& it has a new #408010 belt on it & as far as I can tell is the correct one... The tensioner won't pull hard enough on the belt to make it drive.. The adjustment on the spring is already as tight as it will go & the impeller bearing is in good shape... Anyone with more AYP/Sears/Murray experience have any idea what I'm missing???? Thanks Lots... Roger

The machine isn't that old.. 3 years maybe... The pulleys seem O.K. I put a B34 belt on it this AM & it seems to work..I don't like using non OEM belts,, but the owner will test it later today,,,, Roger

I don't see a 408010 in their list of Outdoor Belts, however OrderTree says 408010 is the right belt for the impeller, see the link below. Have a good one. Geo
