Snow Chief snow blower

I own a Snow Chief 26", 8 Hp snowblower and would like to replace the auger and drive belts but do not have the owners manual. The model# is SC8250D and has a Tecumseh engine. Is it possible to bring in the old belts for sizing to the auto parts store? I am worried that the auger belt may be stretched as for it was slipping before I removed it. Is there a certain type of belt that must be used or just an automotive belt? Any help will be appreciated? Thank You

Any place that sells belts should be able to size them for you... Ask for the fractional horsepower belts,, auto belts don't seem to hold up.. Roger

Yes you can match them up at an auto parts store. NAPA has the best selection. Make sure you get a "BLADE RUNNER" belt. These are made for the high stress of small engine applications and most are woven belts.

I always buy my parts from my local outdoor power equipment dealer if I don't than when I need him he won't be there! It is always better to support the local guy. But if you must Sears parts direct has them. I'm sure that a google search will find others.

AJ-- What does the 25MA and 3887MA stand for? I have plugged it into multiple sites including Sears and nothing comes up? I would love to support my local small engine shop but I did a better job rebuilding my carb than him last year. Had to do the job myself to get the job done right. Please help!!

Those are the murray part numbers any Murray dealer can get them try:
Ordertree.com | Craftsman Lawn Mower Parts | Ryobi Parts | Fishing and Gun Accessories | Power Equipment | Lawn and Garden Tools
or

Parts & Accessories | Shop & Find Lawn & Garden, Appliance Parts at Sears PartsDirect | SearsPartsDirect.com

Just enter the part number in the search box.

Noma built your machine for General Power under the Snow Chief brand Murray bought Noma and I crossed the General Power part numbers to Murray numbers. General Power was bought by MTD and most of the parts are NLA from MTD. Murray was brought by Briggs & Stratton.

Does anyone know where you can get blower parts for the Snow Cheif brand?

I need to replace the friction wheel.

They use to have a parts service in harvard, IL, but that is no longer around.

Thanks for any help.

Need help finding belt for Snow Chief

The belt on my Snow Chief broke. Tried local small engine repair shop and he said Snow Chief no long made, can't get parts. Would not try cross refrencing with something else. The model is SC3222E. It's a good little snow blower, hate to throw it out because of belt.

I have a Snow Chief made in the early 90's. The model # is faded so I will take a guess at the number SC3250 below that PC3803. It is an 8hp 25" Tecumseh. On the lower assembly housing there is a stamped #53782. One belt is broke. The other is stretched. I need belt sizes. TY Pete

You probably have an SC8250 but we really needs to know the year of the unit. If you could post the engine numbers that would help pin point the year. They are ether stamped into the rewind housing by the spark plug(maybe under the starter switch if electric starter equipped) or on a sticker under the carb on the rewind housing. If older than 1991 but not to much older, than the drive belt is 954-0223 3/8 X 36 auger belt is 707232 NLA 1/2 X 31.
