I accidently left my carburetor in a soaking solution overnight and now there a paste-like buildup of varnish on the parts. the paste comes off with a paper towel. What can i do?

rinse everything that was soaked in warm water, then blow out all holes with compressed air.

You can use aerosol spry carburetor or brake cleaner. You could also try "canned air" that's sold for cleaning computers and other electronics.
