John Deere tractor/snowblower

I have a JD 110 lawn tractor with a 44" snowblower attached. Every time I try to engage the attachment engagement lever the engine stalls. I have checked all the pullys, belts, etc, and all move freely. I have checked for ice build up or something that could be preventing the free turning of any parts. The tractor runs well until I try to start the snowblower. Any suggestions as to what can I now check?
Thanks

Check the safety switch under the seat, may have a loose connection, or the switch itself may be broken or rusted.
