b&s engine gasket

i have a b&s 20hp engine and i am replacing the crankcase gasket but i have 3 gasket thickness choices. .015/.005/.009 which one do i use ? (model#460707/ type; 2278-E1)

You use the different thickness to determine your end play on the crank and bring that into spec. The less wear on the crank would need the greater thickness.

So you would start with a spec manual or at least that information. One of the guys here would likely have it. I can only come up with it from an online source.

I think the .015 is usually the one to use and the others if end play is not to spec with it.
