I have a quick question concerning lawn tractors. I have 15+ year old 12 HP Sears unit that I want to replace. Can someone tell me what brands I should be considering for relacement. I would like something in the 12-18 HP range since I really don't have that much grass to cut. How would todays SEARS unit compare. Your recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

In my opinion, a machine the size of a lawn tractor, the choice should be made based on parts and service.

If your area does not have a dealer for warranty repairs, future needed parts or service, on the brand you choose, it may not be a wise choice to buy that brand.

Also, in my opinion, avoid any machine this size that does not have an American made engine. Just my opinion but based on prior years of expierence as a small engine repair technician.

Good Luck

Just bought a John Deere 16hp 42" mulching deck LT155 model. Very satisfied, runs great and very durable. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
