Throttle pin on Huskee 16.5 ridng mower

Throttle pin on Huskee 16.5 ridng mower

I was mowing just fine, engine sped up, no control over throttle, cable was moving, shut it down started back up same results, shut it down won't start back up, was told it locked up or throttle pin messed up, where and what is the throttle
pin? Could it have locked up? Dumbfounded. thanks

Please post the model number usually found under the seat along with the engine model number

You have a Tecumseh 16.5 HP OHV165-204406 engine. My thoughts are that he was refering to the throttle shaft, which controls the throttle plate opening & closing the throttle. This is most likely worn and loose causing it to be cocked to 1 side and getting stuck. I belive the part # 640035 is what you need.

the left side of engine looking from the seat, under the air filter, the carb, look for the throttle shaft lever, there will be two levers you want the one closer to engine the other in front is for the choke, check to see if it is stuck, or linkage binding etc.
check to see if the throttle cable is still connected

Thank you, I will... I never knew that is what those things were called.. I will let you know if I am successful....
