replacing pull string on weedeater
#1
The pull string on my weedeater got stuck and I can't pull to start it. I've tried to take it apart but can't get the pull unit off the shaft. Is a special tool required? Is this worth fixing? The unit is a Ryan and has given me excellent service for about 6 years. I've kept the filter clean and I would like to continue using it. I don't have the manual anymore.

Hi:zecarioca
As you said, the string got stuck, which may be the reason the housing won't come off.
The housing may also be held in place with a SNAP RING on the shaft. If so, you will need a snap ring tool. This tool can be purchased at any automotive store. <Buy the one with an assortment of tips.>
Double check for more screws. Often times one gets missed. <happens to the best of us>
HINT:
The RYAN company has been purchased by ROBI but parts are still available for your trimmer. The supplier phone number is 1-800-245-5468 or {209}784-4102 should you be out of the toll free area.
