frozen homelite trimmer

for some illogical reason i used staight gasoline in my weed trimmer. the engine seized.i sprayed the inside w/wd40. if one of you knowledgable guys can help,i'd greatly appreciate it.i'm alone at the cabin.

Hi betty b, Having seen a few 2 cycle engines run without oil in the mix I can tell you it will probably never be the same even if you free it up and it will start. Cylinder and piston galling, frozen or broken rings are among the things that happen when run without oil. Also, it could be seized at the crankshaft journal. My advice, if it cost less than $125.00,is to replace it. If it is a top brand such as a Stihl you may want to have a dealer take a look to see if it is worth repairing...Mike
