kohler courage 19hp governor ???

I've got an '06 sv590 in a cub. It broke the flywheel key, bolt was finger tight on flywheel. After fixing, motor revved up. I don't see the governor pulling back. Disconnected arm didn't see governor shaft move when manually revved motor. Anybody seen this? Thought I'd ask before I tear the thing down. Is 50 metered hrs alot for today's kohler motors?

I haven't seen a governor failure in the courage engines yet. I've seen a few fail in the older commands. Usually it just falls off the pin and into the sump. Post back with what you find, I'd be interested to know. So far the courages seem to be decent engines.

Cheese: Tore motor down, found governor laying in bottom with center boken out of gear. Amazing all the plastic gears in this thing! Will attempt to contact Kohler (see if they care) about part. I see updated replacement gears online so must be somewhat common. Any other short comings you know of while the case is opened up?
