frequent shear pin replacement [Relocated post]

I just bought a 1128 Ariens blower slightly used. It had one auger shear pin sheared when I got it, no big deal. After replacing, it blew the same one on my first job. I replaced that and couple jobs later, the other side blew. I had no choice but to put something solid in to get through my customers (I know, bad idea). I have run an Ariens 11 horse, 36 inch bite beast of a blower for 24 years, only repacing shear pins 3 or 4 times total. Wondering if this new model with same HP and only 28 inch bite has too much torque, or is it my macine, or the real wet snow (in 24 yrs, I have seen it all). Anyone have knowledge about this frequent snapping pin issue, or possibly stronger pins for this model?? It's a 94121. Thanks

You left ouot a number. Your model # 924121. Double check the auger. The parts list shows 2 shear pins per auger. If you only have 1 per auger, that would be a good reason for breaking so often.
