18.5 Briggs/Stratton

I am having starting issues with this Troy Built 18.5, INTEK B&S

I just replaced the solenoid, and a battery (340 CCA)

It does not keep a charge, after charged up, it'll run for the duration of usage, and MAYBE start like 30 minutes after.

Where do I go from here?

Thanks Guys.

Disconnect one battery cable and connect a test light between the cable and the battery and see if it lights up (with the key turned off). If it does, there is a short. Try disconnecting the alternator and see if the short goes away. If so, it could be the diode is blown in the alternator wiring. If not, unplug other items until the light goes out. When you find the thing that turns the light out, the short will be isolated and easy to repair.
