Craftmans mower not running properly...

I have a Sears Craftsman mower 22" rear bagger
Model#917.377690. it will start but runs real rough. If I hold the primer bulb in, it will run just fine. However when the primer is released it starts sputtering and running rough. I've replaced the primer bulb 3 times now and each time, it will start and run just fine for about 10 or 15 minutes then starts running rough again. I've also replaced the the housing part that the bulb fits into and it still runs rough unless I keep the bulb pushed in. The gas is fresh. Any ideas as to what's going on here.

Thanks in advance for any help.
