Replacement for Briggs 253707 engine on JD 111

I have a john deere 111 riding lawnmower that has an 11 hp B & S engine model 253707 engine that needs to be replaced. I found a B & S 12 hp model 281707-0191-01 for sale. The only difference I can see is that the 12 hp doesn't have a high line oil level like my 11 hp has. Does anyone know if the 12 hp would work on my rider?

If the crankshaft sizes are the same, it should fit in place of the 11 hp engine. They have the same bolt pattern. The shaft sizes are usually the same on similar hp engines, but some 11 hp engines had stepped crankshafts, so measure them to be sure they are the same diameter and length.
