B&S 461777 0137 E1 Cam

I have a older Yard Machine and it will not start. All of my diagnostics point toward compression relief valve... Anyone have a diagram or instructions on how to pull the cam? All replies are appropriated.

Remove the engine, remove the sump pan, and pull the camshaft out. That's all there is to it. How have you determined that's what is wrong? Have you made sure the valve clearances are correct?

Before you pull the engine and tear it down adjust the valves to factory specs and try it. The cam compression release is super sensitive to the exhaust valve clearance being set correctly. If this is a OHV B&S I believe the clearance should be .004.
