31cc Sears String Trimmer

My 31cc Craftsman string trimmer seem to continually drain fuel into the engine and out the exhaust port. If the machine has been idle (unused) for a while the tank will always be empty. I just add fuel to the empty tank and generally I'm off and running. However, if I shut it down and try to restart within hours, I'll find the plug is completely wet and fouled along with a noticeable stain of fuel on whatever surface the muffler had been resting. The tank will always drain till empty if left alone.

without any model numbers I haven't a clue what you have or how old it is ,,but this is probably whats happening....The diaghragms in the carb are old & stiff & the needle valve isn't holding the fuel anymore... Remove the carb & put a complete repair kit into it & your trouble should be fixed.... Roger
