MTD discontinued it because it is not a fast moving part and your tractor is over 20 years old.
Ask at your local small engine repair shop if they may have 1 out back in their junk pile or if they know of anyone who may have 1.

Those don't appear to me to be MTD model or part #'s. Could be a problem with your search.

he's copied it from the ipl. I have an mtd built 85 800 series, 1 up from his 600 and it also has part numbers like that. I could use his dilemma about getting the part to justify to my wife why I should get the free 800 front end section that was offered in my area. Actually I emailed about it and it was gone.
A friend as a 700 series that he gave me the deck for as he uses it only for yard hauling. I notice on it's ipl that it uses the same lift handle as the 600 needed here.
My guess is a lawn tractor junk yard is the best bet now.

Those are correct numbers for both the model number and part number. I looked it up on my old MTD microfische.

Look on Craigslist in your area. Might find a tractor with no motor for free.

Is that for 38" deck? I have an old carcass with that deck mounting system on it but it is 42"...I think it should still be the same tho...
I will look and get the model of it today.

The 700 I know of is a 44" deck.
