What is a good height to mow a new lawn to? I believe it's bermuda grass.

Normal mowing height for that type grass is 1 to 2 inch.
Wait until it is 3 inch high then mow it to 2 inch. Do this for about 4 mowings then the 5th mowing if you want it shorter than 2 inch mow it before it get 1/3 higher than the height you want. Be sure the blades are sharp so the grass cuts and does not tear. Mulching mowing is best for the first few mowings as the nutrients in the grass will help with the rooting process. Also helps retain mositure.

Yep...even Bermuda..the old rules apply..never cut more than 1/3..and the longer it is the less likely weeds will get in and it will use less water.

If you want it to always keep that very green color even after you cut then you need to only cut a 1/4" each time. Don't cut it too short or you'll get that dry look. Of course this means having to cut it 2 or 3 times a week.
