Kohler Command CH25S
My Kohler Command CH25S has developed an oil leak near the bottom of the engine. It might be near the oil cooler but I can't really tell yet. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

I have a Kohler Command CV25S, a similar engine but w/ a vertical shaft.
At first, I experienced same symptom as you’re describing. Like you, I couldn’t pinpoint the leak. I continued running it for a short time thereafter until seeing a blue/white smoke from the exhaust. I was fairly certain I had blown a head gasket, and took it to my authorized Kohler mechanic. He confirmed a blown head gasket, and because I continued running it after first seeing a thin oily film, I severely warped a cylinder head which had to be replaced. At that time, there were 661 hrs. on the engine.
I’m sure there could be other causes but a bad head gasket is a possibility.
